 | Comments: |
Given the dire state of Black Angel Trail, I decided to hike something of a loop. All the trails I hiked are in good condition (very few blowdowns and little mud).
I hiked in from Bog Brook, pitched a tent at Perkins Notch (which has 3 tent pads), and then did Eagle Link, which has a fine view at the top. The best water if you're camping at Perkins Notch is at the junction of Wild River and East Branch Trail. Rainbow Trail has a nice open spot with good views, and Wildcat River Trail was a very pleasant way to end the hike. Except at the camp site, a few people on Wild River Trail, and people ascending Carter Dome, I had the trails to myself.
