Plenty of room at the trail lot at the intersection of rte 16 and Stony Brook Rd at 8am and 4pm. |

Dry Trail |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Cross what water? Usually there would be a major crossing around a mile in, and a couple of minor ones higher up. The drought has dried up everything. It was all Stony, and no Brook. Everything has dried out that even the rain this weekend may not make the streams flow much, most being absorbed by the terrain. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Generally these two trail sections are fine, with a couple of easy step-overs down low, and the few watch-your-head easy duck-unders. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
None this outing. Would have to bring water for Bowser. |
|
 | Bugs: |
None. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
We saw what seems to be a black fabric covered water bag, with black screw cap, hanging on a tree branch by one of the ledge spots after turning onto Carter Moriah. It's placement suggest it was found by others and hung to make spotting it easy. It may have been lost by an AT hiker, as we see many on that trail this time of year. We packed it out and hung it on the trailhead sign at rte 16. |

 | Comments: |
Nice day for an OTHH outing, a bit warm down low in the afternoon, but dry. Great long views of everything from many places enroute to the top. |
