Comments
Comments: Redlining adventure. Leaves of smaller birch and maple are beginning to turn color & fall.

A few slick boulders above 3000 ft on McCrillis Trail -perhaps from a spotty shower from earlier. Generally good footing, even on the steep sections, typical of this WODC area.

At dusk I encountered a momma bear and cub (about 30 yards away), we all just continued on in opposite directions along McCrillis Path. Navigating this "lightly used" trail in the dark was tough with a headlamp - relied on Gaia app to verify I stayed on path. Perhaps in daylight blazes are more obvious, or maybe not. Signage for ski/ hiking trails are deteriorated. Nice road walk along the horse fields to finish off the loop.
