 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked on Scott Road near the trailhead. It looks like they have enlarged the small hiker lot, but are still in the process of grading it. I followed the lead of other visitors and parked on the road itself. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Weetamoo Trail crosses the Chocorua River. The "river" was flowing, but it was easy to hop across. I didn't see any other flowing water on this route. It's especially dry at higher elevations. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few scattered blowdowns, but the trails are very well maintained. |

 | Comments: |
Route was up Hammond and Liberty; then down Liberty, Hammond and Weetamoo. I used a bike to get back to my car at the Hammond trailhead.
Hammond Trail is probably the least used approach to Chocorua. It's a bit longer than other routes, but it's a beautiful trail. After a steep climb up to Bald Mountain, there's a lovely, mostly level walk to the junction with Liberty Trail. This section of Hammond Trail has some partial views out to Carter Ledge and the summit of Chocorua.
Beautiful hike. |
