 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Success Road is a bumpy ride in, but a regular car can make it. Parking for half a dozen cars on the roadside at the trailhead. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
No water to creoss. It's the driest I've ever seen it- even the bogs weren't that muddy. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Good shape. There's a fairly recent blowdown early on the Success Trail, but easily stepped over.Bog boardwalks need some attention, but are still passable since there's no water. Probably a different story in normal weather times. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn't see any. |

 | Comments: |
Got chased off this trail a couple years ago by weather. I remember it was a really wet and swampy trek. Not this time- dry as a bone. It's a good workout with most of the elevation coming steadily at the start. Good views at the Overlook, and then travel through the bog up to the AT. A little bit of ledge climbing/scrambling, including an interesting 15' wall to pass and then you're on the summit. |
