Small rock hop over outlet of Jack's Pond, actually had a little water in it. Otherwise dry everywhere else. |

Trails in great shape, small re-route on Thumbs Down Tr around an area of ground wasp nest, near junction with Harriskat Tr, just follow orange flagging up and around, signs on either end. |

Sure, but bring water, so dry. |

Lots of tussock caterpillars, see note above about ground wasp nest, trail work-around to avoid. |

Such a nice little loop, my second visit, will be back. Love the carved critters in the fallen logs, snake, salamander, leopard frog, owl and dragon. Also a totem pole of critters next to kiosk. Views over brush from Skatutakee....gorgeous views on ledge outlook on Thumb towards Monadnock, spent a long time on the warm rocks, in the glowy sun, and in warm temps soaking up the day.
Mix of foliage colors throughout, some leaves down getting a little slippery in spots. |
