Due to the last couple months being dry, not an issue for either the first crossing of Drakes Brook on Sandwich Mtn Trail or the final crossing of Drakes Brook on Drakes Brook Trail. |

Picked this hike as one of the 52WAV listed on summitsmarts.com. Took the loop of Sandwich Mountain Trail up, which goes over Noon Peak, short spur trail to Jennings Peak, and continued to Sandwich Dome, then descended the Drakes Brook Trail. Sandwich Mtn Trail is better for the ascent since it's steep. Leaves are starting to cover many parts of the trail. Views from Jennings Peak were very good and wide-ranging. Views from Sandwich Dome also very nice, but ledge area is small so not a lot of room for people if crowded. |
