 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Went in the morning on a Tuesday, so there wasn't any issues parking. It's a $5 fee to park (or you need the appropriate parking pass). Tripoli Road from exit 31 is in fine condition. No issues this way. Heading down Tripoli Road towards Waterville Valley is another story. The road is littered with potholes. It was slow going at times in this direction. |

 | Comments: |
Trails were in great shape with very little mud (even with the somewhat recent rains). Not many folks out at all (but probably because it was a week day).
Instead of doing East Osceola, decided at the spur of the moment to check out Middle Osceola. If you're not familiar with bushwhacking and off-trail navigation, I wouldn't suggest this. Didn't have too many difficulties finding the black summit canister.
While I paused for a moment on the bushwhack, I thought I saw some wire, but then figured it was just a vine. Upon reading a little more in Steve Smith's blog, it seems I probably stumbled across an old phone wire! |
