 | Comments: |
We traversed the three peaks with a car spot (up Ammo, down Caps). This route is 10.1 miles with 4721’ of gain. Note that the Lakes of the Clouds Hut is now closed for the season, so the only water on this route is at the NH State Park building on Mount Washington. (Also note that if you are planning a Prezi traverse, Madison Springs Hut is also now closed for the season). The Ammo trailhead has a new boot brush station; this helps to reduce the introduction of invasive species. We saw lots of hikers enjoying the fine weather, bumped into people we know, and spent a minimal amount of time on the Washington summit as it was a mob scene! The best views were on the Caps descent as the foliage looks particularly awesome from that vantage point. |
