 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The final climb to Chocorua could benefit from additional blazing/cairns. Lots of people, including me (despite hiking here before), wandering around off trail in a number of places. The turn to the west side of the summit seemed to be the easiest to miss. I ended up above the trail there, but with the elevation I was able to see the trail below and climb back down to it on rocks. Even saw some people on the steep north face of the summit, which appears quite risky to me. |

 | Comments: |
Beautiful day for one of the best viewpoints in the Whites. Lots of people on the summit, but relatively little traffic on the route I took. The Weetamoo Trail is a very pleasant woods walk and makes a nice loop. Going counterclockwise seems to make for an easier descent with relatively less descent on ledges and rocks than an out and back on Piper Trail. |
