Comments
Comments: Super proud of my boy James for completing his NH48 on Eisenhower today! He has proven to be quite strong and fearless (and occasionally reckless). At four years, seven months old he has now managed to complete both his NH48 and NH52WAV (nearly two years faster than his big sister did).

Got an early start today for some nice cool air and solitude on way up Pierce. Crowds materialized as expected and James received lots of kind words for his accomplishment. Views were a tad hazy today but gorgeous as always. The section from treeline to the waterfall on Edmands Path was soaked. Everything else was very dry today, with the exception of a short stretch above Mitzpah Cutoff. When the trail levels off one mile from the trailhead I gave the fam my pack and ran the 3.1 miles to the truck. I managed to get back to a Edmands trailhead only 30 seconds after my family made it there on foot-impeccable timing:) I had never been on that stretch of Mt. Clinton Road-it is quite pleasant although it was scorchin’ hot this afternoon for a fast run on tired legs!

I tallied up that to help complete both lists, we car camped eight nights, camped in designated backcountry sites seven nights, and spent two nights in an AMC hut. Big shout out to big sis Margaret for paving the way and helping keep little bro motivated. And for her infinite patience. Next up- NE67!!!
