 | Comments: |
Initially my game plan was to hike the Mount Kinsman Trail from 116, but after driving around in the dark and not quite understanding where the parking lot or trailhead exactly were, I opted for Lafayette Place instead. (To be clear, I think I may have driven into where the trailhead was - the tennis club? - but being so dark, it didn't seem right. Perhaps starting when it was light out would have been smarter.)
The weather was gorgeous but cold - on the ridge was where you'd see ice and a lot of frost. Absolutely beautiful. For most of the ascent, there were jets conducting military exercises, and I don't ever recall hearing them be so loud. Not complaining, as it was a rarity for me and pretty cool.
Super nice folks on the trail when I was descending. Really glad I planned this for today. |
