 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked on the side by the start of the gated road to the water tank off Osseo Circle behind the condos. It seems questionable but a worker there told me it would be fine, alternatively there is also a dirt parking area off Clearbrook road. |

Nothing of note, some small streams flowing after a bit of rain. Drinking water at Liberty Springs tent site was just a trickle. |

For some steep scrambles I had to use my hands but I’d think most dogs could do it too. |

 | Lost and Found: |
A camp shoe by the junction near Liberty summit. It was heavy and wet and I left it there. |

Thanks to the most recent reports on Big Coolidge I finally had the confidence to do this traverse over “Hardwood Ridge”. (Should be called Softwood Ridge, but okay). This is number 202/203 for my NH200 also. Anyway on this cool damp day I headed up Old Osseo untiI I reached the stream coming from the east drainage/ slide that you can see leading up to the south bump of BC on the map. I followed it on the right in young hardwoods, avoiding the deep drainage until I could see light from the slide and popped out on it briefly for great views. Then it was back into the woods to find my way around steep open slabs until gaining the ridge. A fun scramble. On the southern bump a cut path led me north over to the main peak and canister and down to the col. From there I went north a ways, eventually adjusting my compass to a NE bearing and staying high on the ridge until joining the old Osseo not far from new Osseo. Saw a few people on trail but had the 4k summits to myself, good views today of passing showers to the south. No ice seen today but I did carry my spikes. I had my bike stashed at the bike path, so rode 8 miles back to Lincoln and called it a day, 6 hours later. It sprinkled a bit on the drive home through the notch. |
