Comments
Comments: The trail conditions at lower elevations were fine..wet rock with leaves requires care to avoid slipping. As the trail ascends there is more snow and ice. We made it up ok without spikes but it was a little sketchy in spots. We put spikes on at lakes of the cloud hut but would have been justified to do do earlier. From the hut to Washington and to the treeline of Jewell, spikes were needed. In some spots we could have used gators due to snow drifts. Too early for snowshoes or crampons.
