 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The two crossings after Zealand Hut were running strong, but we were able to cross with a long jump. We were concerned about these two crossings after reading a FB post from Friday, that reported knee deep water. Thankfully, the water receded by Sunday.
Crossings on the Bondcliff Trail were rock hoppable with care. |

The trail report for the Bonds, by Borealis is spot on. For Zealand, the trail was in great shape with no snow or ice until the hut. After the hut, there was about an inch of snow. We barebooted until the spur to Zeacliff. This is where deeper snow and the ice began and we put on spikes. Lots of black ice under the snow. Spikes stayed on for West Bond, up to Bond, and then were removed on the descent from Bond. Enough bare rock heading to Bondcliff to bareboot the rest of the hike. Only ran into 5 other hikers after the group we saw at the hut. We were happy to get ZBonds for November before the road closure. |
