Comments
Comments: I decided on a whim this morning to do this hike today. I broke a pole about a quarter mile down LW so I had to gandalf the rest of the hike with one pole. Inbound there was about an inch of snow with some of the usual sloppy spots here and there, 2" to 3" inches on the peak with ankle deep and some shin deep snow in drifty places. Outbound the snow melted and the trail was wet and goopy in places. I wore exos for traction up and back until I returned to Black Pond. A pretty comfortable day overall but a noticeable temperature drop up on the ridge. There was another solo hiker and also a group of four on the trail today.
