 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
A DOC van was stuck on the road just above the winter gate overnight. Gate was open this morning when we arrived but based on info from yesterday and Intel from some friends we decided not to risk it and just parked at the winter lot. When we returned this afternoon, the gate was closed. Guessing this is just temporary for safety because of the current road conditions? Either way, road is pretty easy to drive up to the winter lot, and appeared extremely icy above the winter lot/gate. |

Pivoted from original plans to go on an offtrail adventure because of weather/conditions and decided to get blown around on the Moody Moose instead, which is never a bad plan B. Nerd meter registered 47mph at the summit. Visibility was trash. Tried to brush off the cairns to help anyone behind us with navigation. Hope everybody made good decisions when they hit treeline. Barebooted to treeline. Spikes on for summit cone. Wore them back to the car. Currently no need for snowshoes but it was still snowing/windy on our way out, YMMV.
Great day with Bougie Bob, Carrie, MB, and Giggles. |
