 | Comments: |
The trail is dry for the first two miles, with some slippery leaves in places, but easy going. The last 0.8 miles from open ledges to the summit have icy sections, but you can avoid them with care or wear rock spikes. I had no issues bare-booting it up and down. The summit rocks that I usually lounge on had quite a bit of glazed ice on it.
Nice mild morning on South Moat with some good views towards Chocorua and the valley. If you're looking for something easy with no ankle-busting snow and hidden ice, head to South Moat |
