Comments
Comments: A beautiful clear, crisp day with no wind. Views to Vermont from the north outlook. No tracks to south outlook until I broke the short stretch out; well worth the side trip. Trails mostly thinly snow covered, but with lots of wet stretches and bare ground until about halfway up between Cedar Brook and loop junction on Hancock Loop trail. Lots of snow on the ridge, particularly toward South Hancock. I bare booted to Loop junction and then used snowshoes up the south link. Televators were very helpful; lots of evidence of people butt sliding down that had made this quite slick. Snowshoes very helpful on the ridge; there were a number of surprisingly deep postholes there from previous hikers without snowshoes. I wore snowshoes down north link, but microspikes probably would have been a better choice as it was still quite rocky.
