Comments
Comments: Spikes to the gem pool with several open mud/water patches down low, then snowshoes all day until walking out base road to the car. Saw a surprising amount of people out today without snowshoes, all them mildly struggling. Many people out skiing the cog. Already several feet of snowpack above treeline. Medium boney below 3500' and much fluffier snow on Jewel then Ammo, scoured snow and lotsa streuss on the summit of Washington.

Lines are off in several places, all worth noting and following. Farther to the right earlier up Monroe to bypass the cliffband, up over the knob to the right of lotc (could walk up on top of the hut), lower to the left on the sloping snowfield on Crawford Path between Tucks crossover and Davis followed by hard right at the top of it to regain the cairn line, and much shorter and left down near the top of Jewel, regaining the cairns at a switchback much closer to treeline. This stretch went deep into the krumholtz so we jokingly referred to getting stuck in a spruce trap as a treesome lol
