Comments
Comments: It was a beautiful day - virtually no wind, sunny and clear. Crawford Path was packed and lovely, wore spikes up Crawford Path to Pierce and Eisenhower & back to Pierce. As the morning grew warmer, the trail became slightly softer/mushy. Heading from Pierce to Mitzpah, there was one set of footprints in fairly deep snow so I wore snowshoes. Mitzpah to Jackson was unbroken, between a foot deep and knee-height snow depending on drifts and exposure. The heavy, melting snow made lots of trees droop down into/across the trail which was the biggest challenge. Hikers should definitely still wear snowshoes on this section, I wasnt able to really pack it down alone. Down Webster-Jackson to the road was beautiful, switched back to spikes.
