Comments
Comments: Followed Old Mountain Road to the Lalish Trail which was moderate all the way to the T-junction with the Link and Ravine Trails. Turned toward the South Overlook on an easy path to some ledges. Trail seemed to end at a cairn although there are multiple unofficial trails heading further up. People probably looking for a viewpoint but the whole area is pretty well treed in. Back down the Link Trail to the Northern Viewpoint which had a slightly better view of the horizon but still not great. Continued on the Link which started to descend steeply to the Saddleback Trail. Hiked through some logging areas on both sides of the trail but the pathway is still clear. Emerged onto an old woods road which made a gradual descent to a kiosk. Beware, the map on the kiosk is actually upside down when compared to where the actual trails are! The path back to the car is on the right before you get to that kiosk and within .25 miles we were back at the start of the Lalish Trail. Nice hike despite the lack of significant views.
