Comments
Comments: 4AM start. Barebooted to Galehead summit. Lot of bare ground first 1.5 miles, then increasing depth to hut. Never thought about spikes. Twinway was untouched for awhile it appeared. Snowshoes mandatory here but wasn’t deep enough to cover up all the boulders going up. It was brutal wrenching on the feet and ankles so I gave up at 4200’. Need a little more snow in there to make the snowshoeing not miserable and unnecessarily dangerous. Rock spikes down most the way-ended up jogging last three miles in the winter boots and spikes, because why not?!
