 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails at good basic status, but frequent ice above ~2500'. This was manageable, but with cautionas it was covering about half the trail on average. We managed without spikes, but often considered pulling them out of the packs. Bring them. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a couple young eager dogs, but be cautious about iffy trail dogs. |

 | Comments: |
Quiet cloudy day with cloud cover barely above peaks in Whites; could just make out Washington, Moosilauke, Chocorua. As noted above, icy surfaces required careful foot placement making for slow going. Early season day to assess trail legs before more ambitious hikes.
Kestrel data: T=27F W=11mph WC=15F. |
