Wow! To end this 4 day trip, I made a brief visit to the alpine zone without much expectations for the day. I arrived at the hut around 9am under partly clear skies, got all the views on Monroe and wandered on Crawford path until the base of the summit cone. Clouds were rolling in and I was tired of my previous hikes.
Ammo is nicely packed from the first 1/4 mile to the hut. No ice, just hard packed snow. It's a bit fluffier in the alpine zone but still doable without snowshoes. Better to have them though, we never know. See you soon NH!! |
