Comments
Comments: Up Valley Way to Madison Hut: goes from patchy snow/ice to consistent and deeper snow cover, we bare booted about 3/4 and switched to microspikes (and kept on until close to end).

Osgood Trail from Madison Hut to Madison summit and back: consistent snow/rime cover, rocks/cairns coated with rime, microspikes.

Madison Hut to Airline via Airline Cutoff: this had drifted snow and some rimed tree branches to push through, could use snowshoes, but it's only 0.2 miles so we didn't switch over.

Down Airline: consistent snow cover up high, microspikes fine for handling (w/ caution) some patchy icy sections, took microspikes off towards the lot.

Overall, in the current conditions, microspikes are fine for this route, although you could wear snowhoes if you prefer those for traction, but you'd probably need to take them on/off several times. Use your own judgement and keep in mind snow conditions can easily change with wind and/or more precipitation.
