Comments
Comments: Our group of four did a clockwise Franconia Ridge Loop, plus an out-and-back from Little Haystack almost to the Liberty Springs junction until we hit our turnaround time.

Solid snowpack the whole way. The ridge itself is a bit drifty in places but decently easy to follow even in low visibility — if you don't pay attention and step off of the trench you’ll posthole midshin, though. One of us put on snowshoes on the ridge, but these seemed more frustrating than helpful. We all put on snowshoes when we headed out toward Liberty, as this was unbroken. You’ll probaby continue to want snowshoes here for a bit, but it’s at least somewhat broken for now. We kept snowshoes on until 3200 ft or so when snowshoes became annoying and we hit water on the trail — you probably don’t need them below treeline, but we didn’t want to stop to switch to spikes until we had to. Some icey bits and flowing water on Falling Waters, but manageable in spikes.
