Comments
Comments: Barebooted up Blueberry Ledge trail until about 1 mile in. I was behind a large group for a while so the trail was well packed, but slick. I ended up meeting this group on the ledges and they kindly assisted me in lifting my dog over the large ledge. The ledges were incredibly icy and I would not attempt without a very good pair of microspikes or crampons. Whiteface summit was bare and as we headed over to Passaconaway, I ran into the group of 3 hikers whose footprints we had been following. My pup and I ended up having the joy of untouched snow after we passed the group. It was a light 1-2" dusting with ice underneath, so spikes stayed on the entire time. The trail up to Passaconaway was equally as slick, but nice view from the small clearing near the summit. Heading down was a breeze once we passed the Rollins junction.
