Surface Conditions

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The main crossing was fickle and the ice around the rocks needed to be tested thoroughly with poles and there were some slips but nobody got soaked, the water wasn’t terribly deep.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No issues
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No dogs seen today. The snow is pretty deep on the bushwhacks judging by the moose post holes.
Bugs
Bugs: None
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A snowshoe and a pole were recovered. Let me know what is written on the snowshoe and I’ll help get it back to the owner.

Comments
Comments: Mainly writing this for the lost and found snowshoe, hoping the owner sees this. We wore snowshoes basically the entire way in the nice fresh powder. Still bony underneath in the beginning but the new snow definitely helped. Still some wet spots, those never really freeze completely. As for the bushwhacks there was deep snow and we were following moose tracks for parts and occasionally checking old recorded gps tracks and sometimes just using compass bearings. Our snowshoe tracks will get you there but will likely become obscured by the moose and the wind and more snow soon.
