 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at the cog. New card machine might have been frozen, Brooks was muttering at it in the dark. Bring $10 per person. |

The yellow dangerous weather ahead sign is missing from Crawford Path as you depart the hut. Then the Davis Path sign is on the ground. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
It was not a day for dogs in the alpine. J stayed home by the fire. One chocolate lab seemed pretty pissed at his human as we were descending the cog. |

They gone. |

 | Comments: |
Quick lap up Washie with Brooks and Tay to get ourselves dialed in for winter. Spikes or bareboots to the gem pool and from there we had our snowshoes on for the rest of the day. We chose the path of least resistance on upper ammo and just followed the gully up to the left of the hut instead of messing around with the snowdrifts in the puckerbrush where the actual trail is. Alpine is wind scoured but fine for snowshoes. Small angled snowfield after leaving the lakes is not very enjoyable but the footing is solid albeit ankle tweaking. No line at the summit, weird. About a million people heading up the cog to ski as we descended, snow looked great for them. Even stopped for a pic with Santa at Waumbek Station. |
