Comments
Comments: Some of the steeps on Manning, where the trail starts alternating between exposed rock and forest, were challenging. There was often some powder covering steep rock with a sheen of ice. Not enough snow to use the snowshoes. Not enough ice for a mountaineering axe to bite into. Microspikes were the best answer, but they weren't a good answer. There were some drifts between the upper part of the Manning trail, the Mowglis trail, Cardigan summit and the first bit of descending the Clark trail, but they were short stretches between rock thinly covered with ice/snow.

Otherwise, traversal was straightforward in the lower altitudes of Cardigan. It was a beautiful day!
