 | Water Crossing Notes: |
I had no issues luckily but they can be tricky. They are bridged with ice that should not be trusted. The water is not deep but you don’t want a wet foot now do you. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A tree or two down. I can’t recall where but they were not hard to step over, just a minor annoyance. One was rather large. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
One little dog made it all the way to Bondcliff today but they turned around before Bond. |

 | Bugs: |
|
|
 | Lost and Found: |
A dude said he lost his phone but I didn’t get his name or anything. He turned back about halfway to Bondcliff from where it starts to go uphill. |

Grid-out AND a golden ticket on West Bond today. There was a group of 3 or 4 snowshoers right on my tail but I didn’t surrender, so they too got “Carled”. There was a snowshoeless man ahead of me who turned back down low with no summits. Nice try. The snow went from 4” down low to over a foot up high, and deeper with drifts. In the beginnning LW trail is actually well packed for bare booting or spikes up to Black Pond trail junction. Snowshoes went on here and stayed on until the windswept Bondcliff ridge, then back on for up Bond and West. The clouds blew off around 1:00 revealing beautiful undercast. I almost wept it was all so overwhelming. |
