 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Trailhead parking is virtually inaccessible - snow covered and huge holes, ruts in the road. High clearance 4WD vehicles can make it (think pickups, not crossovers). I parked at the overlook parking on Rte 2. |

Hit the trail at 8:30. About a half mile to the trailhead from where I parked. Trail was busy, and in good shape. Pretty bony down low. Put on snowshoes at about 1.5 miles from trailhead and left them on until I got back to that spot. Trail up high was pretty good for snowshoes. Walkable without, but much harder. Not much view from Starr King (just the bottom of the trails at Bretton Woods), but NO view from Waumbeck. Of course it was sunny and clear by the time I got down. Great day in the woods. |
