Magnificent sunrise hike this morning. Bumped into same lady (Christa) as Cannon Sunrise last month so I guess we’re sunrise buddies now:) She was gonna plunge in the river at the bottom-brave soul! Trail is super packed and extremely bony. No need to carry snowshoes until we get more snow unless you want to destroy them along with your lower extremities. I barebooted to summit and wore spikes for the run down. I’m getting the hang of this running in winter boots thing-made it down in 30 minutes:) Saw one guy near bottom skinning up the trail-essentially skiing on rocks? He must hate his skis, or maybe himself? I love a good sufferfest but good night that looked AWFUL!!! To each their own, I suppose!!! |
