Comments
Comments: Hiked up bare booted on Auto Road on 4-6 inches, snow-shoe packed (albeit uneven) track. At 2 miles, snow less consolidated but still enough consolidation for good traction. Put on microspikes for 1/2 mile on Rollins Trail to summit, but ice mostly covered by snowpack. Glorious gray day -- dark green evergreens against white snow surrounded by hues of layered blue in the sky.
Plenty of room for skiers in fluffy snow on the sides of the road. Saw three very happy skiers going up.
