One has a bridge, most were rock hops or stopovers. One was open and required removing snowshoes (one of us made it across and all did on return) |

In our quest to repeat the 52WAV peaks and the delisted ones as well we ventured to Square Ledge(delisted). Snowshoes from end to end. Oliverian Brook is almost stable enough for bare boots/ spikes but you could see where people did and it looked like a lot more work than snowshoes. Trail became more unconsolidated as we went and this continued a bit after the split. We went up Passaconway Cutoff and soon the trail was unbroken. We broke up to Square Ledge. Depths varied but 6-7” was the low spots. Even with 5 sets of snowshoes up and down there is NO consolidation and would be miserable without snowshoes. Great day with friends in beautiful woods getting some exercise. |
