Great late day start rehabbing the ankle and enjoying the winter wonderland. No views of northern Presi’s and just a little toward Willey/Field but still a fabulous day amid swirling fresh snow. Two of us did snowshoes, two did spikes, I think ‘shoes are a better choice esp once you go beyond the packed A-Z highway. Apologies to ascenders for my inelegant butt slide at the upper Avalon Spur that made you wait as I struggled to right myself with the bum left knee. Fast and slippery descending from Avalon to the A-Z junction which tested the knee further but many folks like my son love the speed that winter brings. Lots of hikers out enjoying this great trail. |
