Started in bare boots but put on snowshoes within a mile or so. Transitioned to spikes above the hut. Nice soft snow on Valley Way with several inches of fresh powder on the previously packed trail. Above the hut it was sketchy snow conditions with loose powder sitting on top of rocks and icy patches - ok but not fast conditions. |
