Well the December snow pack is toast. The rain and warm temps yesterday all but destroyed the snow. I started in spikes hoping that the snow had held on but quickly took them off. Bare ground most of the way up the Quarry Trail with patches of snow and ice. I put spikes back on for the descent from the summit but took them off again at the viewpoint on the Lakeview Trail. The spikes were helpful but not fully necessary.
Bright sunny sky with temps in the upper 20s and light wind. Great views. |
