Comments
Comments: Yesterday's rain and fog did a number on the fall powder. Lower Mt. Rowe Trail has some snow/ice at the very trailhead and at the first flat, but was otherwise fairly bare (patchy in the woods). Yellow Trail is mostly bare with some black ice on the usual ledges and some frozen granular in a few flats up high. Ridge Trail had some patchy ice, but was fairly bare. Never encountered snowpack more than a few inches deep. More snow cover visible on the north-facing slopes.

Snowshoes will be superfluous until we get more snow. I barebooted roundtrip without too much slipping, but others may feel more comfortable with light traction.

Nice sunny morning with temperatures in the upper 20s.
