Comments
Comments: As these are a lot of people's "first" winter 4000s the trails are pretty torn up by people not using snow shoes. The Avalon, AZ, and Mount Tom spurs are pretty well-packed and can be done in spikes, but the rest of the range is in rough shape.

There are pretty significant drifts on the lower Willey Range Trail on the way up Field. There was more drifting and mostly unbroken trail from the 4000' col between Field and Willey onwards. I broke it out and packed it as best I could but quite a few people had post-holed through there.

On the way back down, the flat areas right below Avalon at 3,400' have been particularly chewed up. Bring your snow shoes and help clean the trail up!
