I just did a quick out and back on Gorge Brook for the start of winter. The trail is a hard packed highway all the way from the lodge to the summit. There are some exposed rocks closer to the bottom but as you climb the snow is just deep enough to have everything covered and the hiking might as well be easier than summer if you have light traction. Above treeline there are icy spots, but nothing particularly slippery. |
