Well, we snowshoed almost 9 miles in order to get 1.6 bluelining miles (hahaha) this beautiful Christmas Day. There was a consistent 6" of fresh snow the entire way. A skier had gone about 1.7 miles, but the road was wide enough that we broke out our own track.
Province Pond is lovely, and the shelter provided a sunny, warm windblock on this blustery day. We cracked up at the privy, which is... umm... "semi private" and airy. Said privy, however, was inaccessible this day as the lid was frozen shut. Boo
The entire route - from car to leanto - could be skied right now, and the snowmobiles have not been out yet. (Entire route, except for the last bit, is a snow machine trail in winter.)
No one else out there but us and a large flock of pine siskins. |
