Comments
Comments: Parked at the Whitehouse Trailhead. I used Dion's from the start. My friend used microspikes. The lower stretches of trail were in great shape. Some fresh powder, but nothing of significance. The snowpack was unconsolidated, but not enough to require snowshoes. A mix of people bare booting and snowshoeing. Different story once you reached the Franconia Ridge Trail and the col between Liberty and Flume. Not as much traffic between the peaks was obvious. After today, it should be all cleaned up and be just as nice as Liberty Springs Trail. This is assuming the people carrying snowshoes continued to Flume. We beat everyone out and back to the trail juncture. Can't promise they went to Flume, but they asked us how the trail was beyond Liberty. And for the people wondering. It looked like a single pair of snowshoes made their way to Haystack yesterday, but today, no evidence.
