I needed something short and sweet and Jackson fit the bill. It pays to be an early hiker. A handful of folks on the way up...I think all of them passed me. And loads more on the descent. Took me five hours RT, but I took my time. Snowshoes were NOT needed today and besides myself I only saw 2 others. I wore them up and carried them back down. Hillsounds or katoolas were the traction of choice, though that short pitch right before the summit is an ice luge due to wind and butt sledding. Full sun and light winds on top. Great day to be out. too bad the incoming storm is going to rough up the trails. |
