Very icy day. Trail conditions varied between packed snow/ice and sheer ice in some sections. The summit slabs were coated in chunky ice. I wore spikes the whole way, but turned around before the last 100 feet or so because the summit was too sketchy for just spikes. Crampons may be better if you were really looking to summit. Some sketchy spots
coming down with spikes too. |
