Comments
Comments: Monday's frozen precip event was generally an improvement for trail conditions on this route, smoothing things out a bit and covering up a lot of the blue ice. A few brief (a dozen or so feet each) areas of trail opened up from runout, but otherwise everything was covered with frozen granular, blue ice, and a half inch or so of powder. Spikes would be adequate for much of the way, except for the ledge adjacent to the view before the ridge. There, the ledge is fully covered in blue ice and a dusting of snow. Snowshoe traction was adequate to get up/down it (I snowshoed roundtrip in Dions with ice cleats without issue), but spikes would be risky. Hillsounds would be fine.

Snowpack, albeit not as deep as before the storm, is much more dense now and is the basis of a good base (even if only a few inches deep).

Mostly cloudy due to passing snow flurries and temperatures in the 20s.
