Spikes (Hillsound Crampons) were used up to Rollins Trail. I did not want to navigate the ledges in snowshoes but there were some areas on Blueberry Ledge Trail with deep snow drifts. The ledges were sheer ice and took some ingenuity to get up and over. Be prepared for an adrenaline rush once you get through this spicy section. Shoes on Rollins Trail. Lots of drifts and trail navigating. Spikes went on the ascend Passaconway and worn to the parking lot. The lower section of Dicey Mills could use some snowshoe love. |
