Comments: What a perfect day to go to the Presis for Mike's birthday hike. We decided to go up Airline to Adams. The trail was dry and in good shape most of the way. A few sections of ice where crampons would be useful but micros were sufficient today. When we reached the knife edge almost all the snow and ice was gone.

Easy climb over exposed talus to the summit of Adams. We retraced our steps and headed to Madison. About a 1/4 mile from the hut the snow wasalittle deeper and we began to posthole. Hank put on snowshoes and packed it out for us. The snow continued a little ways. up Osgoodand then the trail was completely dry. Easy going to the summit of Madison. We passed a group of 3 coming off the summit.

The trek down Valley Way was a eroding monorail of snow and ice. It was like this til about the Durand scar trail. Rest of trail was a little wet but dried out at lower elevation. Great day for the Presis with TinTin, Hank and Mike
