Comments
Comments: Alright what a day! I planned on Monroe but saw the ridge driving up and figured lower winds day…. Let’s get it! About 15 cars in the lot. I made it up 2 miles on the highway barebooting. I didn’t feel like slipping on the butt sliding so I threw my snowshoes on. I should have remembered my k-10’s or crampons because bejesus there is just pure ice on the ridge! I made it with my snowshoes on but it wasn’t the smartest a few times. I thanksfully trust them and also sat down a few times that they didn’t grab on the ice. I saw literally 0 people on the ridge. I wad never cold (only my face a few times), could I have put my goggles on? Yep… did I? Nope! I have a trucker hat and a light buff with a little use of my mitt to cut the wind. Glad I didn’t see anyone on the ridge that should not have been there, feel like that is a norm now. Passed a few after the hut. 3 left for this January grind!
